COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – Police say they are aware of a recent Facebook post and video from a March 27th incident at a local gas station.
The department has had to handle a number of media requests for information about the incident which shows a man who says he is a Marine getting into a confrontation with four Arab American teenagers.
At one point in the video, the man said “I’m a U.S. Marine, I’ve been to Fallujah, I’ve killed your kind.”
Coldwater Public Safety Director Mark Bartell said in a statement that there has been no citizen or business report of the incident in the video to police.
The video shows an angry outburst from the man who apparently was not happy with the teens when they tried to cut into line.
It’s not clear if any laws were broken given the fact that the teens say they were not intimidated by the unidentified man who served three tours in the Middle-east and is battling post traumatic stress disorder.
The teens posted a small part of the confrontation on Facebook, but family members of the Marine say it doesn’t show the whole picture.
WWMT-TV is reporting that the coverage of the incident has cost the man his job.
