ANGOLA, IN (WTVB) – Trine University announced plans on Thursday to add two new athletic buildings and start men’s and women’s hockey programs in 2017.
The project will cost $16 million. What was called in a university news release as a significant lead gift has been made toward the total cost.
The new 50,000-square-foot, 1,000-seat ice arena will be located on the southwest portion of campus near the softball and soccer fields.
The NCAA Division III men’s and women’s hockey teams will begin play in the fall of 2017.
The university also plans to build a new 3,000-seat athletic and event center. The nearly 75,000 square feet facility will host men’s and women’s basketball games.
