COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – An audit conducted by a Fort Wayne CPA firm showed a $5.4 million positive swing in 2015 operating revenue for the Community Health Center of Branch County when compared to the previous year.
Michael Earls from the firm of BKD told the hospital board of directors on Monday night that assets increased by 37 percent last year which gave the hospital an operating income of $2.1 million. He credited increases in outpatient revenues and hospital officials monitoring expenses.
The report went on to say the hospital’s operating revenues and nonoperating income were sufficient to cover operating expenses which reversed a trend the hospital had seen for the past couple of years.
The hospital’s long term debt also went down from $9.8 million in 2014 to $7.75 million at the end of 2015.
