ANGOLA, IN (WTVB) – A Rome City, Indiana woman suffered a head injury late Friday night in a rear end collision east of Angola.
The Steuben County Sheriff’s Department says the crash happened just before 11:00pm as 19-year-old April Felts was apparently struck from behind by a vehicle driven by 41-year-old Tammy Blair from Fayette, Ohio as Felts was trying to make a left turn on U.S. 20 and County Road 350 East.
Blair told deputies she did not see the Felts vehicle prior to hitting it.
Felts was trapped in the vehicle for a short time and had to be freed by Angola firefighters. She was then taken to Parkview Regional Medical Center in Fort Wayne by Steuben County E.M.S. for a head injury.
Blair denied any injuries and refused medical treatment at the scene. Alcohol is not believed to be a factor in the crash and it remains under investigation by the Steuben County Sheriff’s office.
