COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – A former Coldwater chiropractor was ordered to pay over $14,000 in restitution Monday in Branch County Circuit Court following his guilty plea to a felony charge of health care fraud.
49-year-old Sebastian Wilson was also placed on probation for one year.
In exchange for the guilty plea, prosecutors agreed to dismiss 22 other health care fraud charges against Wilson.
The 23 charges covering three cases were filed after Wilson was convicted by a Branch County Circuit Court jury on eight counts of health care insurance fraud involving Blue Cross/Blue Shield last August.
He was sentenced to 18 months probation and ordered to serve 30 days in jail in that case.
Wilson had been operating out of the Healing Hands Chiropractic Clinic on North Marshall in Coldwater before he ran into legal trouble.
