COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – The Branch County Sheriff’s Office has received a generous donation from the Marble Chain of Lakes Improvement Association to outfit its patrol fleet with Mobile Computer Terminals (MCTs).
These new terminals are designed to significantly enhance deputy safety and efficiency on the water by allowing dispatchers and other units to track patrol locations in real time.
Additionally, the technology enables marine deputies to spend more time on active patrol, as they can now complete reports directly from the water, instantly access vessel registration data, and maintain seamless communication with dispatch.
This latest contribution highlights a long-standing partnership between the sheriff’s office and the association, which has consistently supported the Marine Division over the years.
Previous collaborative efforts have included funding a new patrol boat motor, purchasing illuminated buoys for the South Chain, and providing essential gear like personal flotation devices and outer carriers for deputies.
The association also sponsors vital public safety initiatives, including the Life Jacket Loan Program, the Skier Down Flag Program, and local boater safety classes, extending their commitment to safety across all of Branch County’s waterways.
