COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – Kyle Russell and Renee Souva were crowned the King and Queen of the 2016 Branch County Fair Sunday night at the Dearth Center.
Russell is the son of Michael and Ginger Russell of Waldron. He is a nine year member of the Boots-n-Jeans 4-H Club. He has been active in equine, starter calf, swine and shooting sports projects. Russell has also taken part in the 4-H Capitol Experience and the Michigan Youth Conservation Council. He plans on majoring in engineering and perhaps serve in the military.
Souva is the daughter of Earl and Melissa Souva of Bronson. She is a nine year member of the Bronson Pioneers 4-H Club and a six year member of the BACC FFA. She has shown several animals in state and beef out of state. Souva has earned all of the 4-H Award Trips and has competed in FFA at state and national conventions. She plans to attend Southwest Michigan College and major in elementary education. Souva also wants to become a 4-H leader and FFA helper.
The other members of the court are Kalie Swift, Lydia AcMoody, Adam Clemens and Keiayr Modert.
Monday is Dollar Day at the Branch County Fair.
The schedule includes sheep showmanship and dairy starter calves at the Show Shelter with stock horses at the horse arena.
The Junior Baseball Tournament in the southeast corner of the Fairgrounds will start at 4:30 p.m.
Tonight’s show in the Amphitheater will include street legal pickups and semi pulls starting at7:30 p.m.
The Branch County Republican Party’s question of the day for Sunday was “DO YOU THINK THE COUNTRY IS HEADED IN THE RIGHT DIRECTION?” The response was 5 Yes and 101 No.
