COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – A solar energy farm has been proposed on the old Midwest Foundry property but nothing has happened in recent months.
Coldwater Board of Public Utilities Director Paul Beckhusen told the Coldwater City Council Monday night they are still going through a legal process.
He said the Marmon Group is having an outside counsel examine the agreement between the City and the Coldwater BPU, AMP Energy and Marmon.
Mayor Tom Kramer said it was still a good project but they have not had the groundbreaking.
Midwest Foundry closed in 1989 and the site has been an eyesore on the south side of Coldwater for many years.
Last year, the city council approved an agreement with the Marmon Group to lease the land for one dollar and use it for the CBPU solar energy field project.
