COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – Showers and thunderstorms are in the forecast for the next couple of days. The rain would be greatly appreciated especially in Coldwater where it has not rained in almost two weeks. This follows the 3 ½ inches of rain that fell within two hours on the south side of Coldwater on July 29.
Parts of northeast Indiana are now considered to be in a moderate drought according to the latest information released on Thursday by the U.S. Drought Monitor.
The moderate drought covers most of LaGrange and Noble Counties along with a small area in the western part of Steuben County and northwest DeKalb County. The rest of northeast Indiana is considered abnormally dry.
Southwestern Branch County along with a small area in the northeastern part of the county are abnormally dry along with northern Hillsdale County and parts of Calhoun County.
Northeastern Calhoun County and almost all of Jackson County are in a moderate drought.
