COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – The Coldwater School Board of Education approved a non-binding letter of interest with N.R.P. Properties of Cleveland on Monday night that could lead to the sale of the Fremont School Building and land.
Superintendent Terry Boguth said N.R.P. is looking to buy the property for $425,000 in hopes of putting in a housing development. She says the sales agreement will be drawn up in the next month and the sale is contingent on N.R.P. getting state tax credits.
According to the company website, N.R.P. has developed properties in 11 states including Michigan. They have 23 properties in Michigan with most of them in Detroit.
In other business, Boguth said the next community forum on building needs in the district has been scheduled for November 14, 2016 at a location which will be announced at a later time.
The board also approved the authorization to Owen Ames Kimball to issue letters of intent for coolers and other work at Max Larsen and Jefferson Elementary Schools.
