JACKSON, MI (WTVB) – With the opening of Michigan’s firearm deer season Tuesday, Consumers Energy is reminding hunters that they are not allowed on its property, with the exception of its hydro properties in the northern Lower Peninsula.
Consumer’s Director of Corporate Security Mike Williams says their goal is to protect the safety of neighbors along their 98,000 miles of rights of way as well as their employees working in those areas and others.
He adds this also addresses the concerns of neighboring landowners who are worried about trespassers entering from Consumers Energy’s property.
A brochure, “A Guide to Consumers Energy Land: To Our Michigan Neighbors,” is available free online which provides more information.
