COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – With fall sports for most schools in the rear view mirror, practice gets underway today in Michigan for boys basketball, wrestling and bowling teams.
Practice got underway last week for girls basketball and competitive cheer squads.Gymnastics got underway October 31, while boys swimming and diving practices begin November 21.
—GIRLS VOLLEYBALL—
Quarter-finals in the MHSAA Girls Volleyball Tournament will be tomorrow night. Second ranked Bronson will face ninth ranked Laingsburg in a Class C quarterfinal at Portage Central. The winner advances to the state semifinals at Kellogg Arena for a 3:45 p.m. match Thursday afternoon. The state Class C finals at Kellogg Areana will be at 12 noon Saturday.
WTVB AM 1590 and FM 95.5 will have live coverage of the quarterfinal match-up beginning at 6:45 p.m. Tuesday.
—FOOTBALL—
Jackson Lumen Christi from the Interstate 8 has advanced to the Division 6 semifinals in the MHSAA football tournament following a 49-6 win over Napoleon on Saturday. Edwardsburg, Lumen Christi and Cassopolis are the only teams from southwest Michigan still alive in the football playoffs.
