ANGOLA, IN (WTVB) – A 32-year-old woman from Ohio was killed and five other persons were injured Sunday afternoon in a crash on the Indiana Toll Road in Steuben County.
The Indiana State Police says the accident happened at about 4:25 p.m. when a eastbound 2001 GMC Yukon went off the road about two miles west of the Angola exit.
The vehicle then struck a guardrail before rolling onto its driver side. The fatal victim was a back seat passenger. She was ejected and was pronounced dead at the scene by the Steuben County Coroner’s Office.
Four others from the vehicle were taken by ambulance to a local hospital and a fifth was flown by the Samaritan Helicopter to a Fort Wayne hospital.
At this time, the crash is still under investigation and all identities are being withheld until family notifications have been made.
