COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – Schools across Branch County, and much of lower Michigan, are scheduled to start two hours later than normal Wednesday, after dense fog rolled in overnight. Some schools eventually cancelled all classes.
The National Weather Service issued a Dense Fog Advisory Tuesday evening, and it remains in effect until 10:00 a.m. Wednesday. Visibility reported at the Branch County Memorial Airport was down to a quarter mile or less during the morning.
Coldwater, Quincy, Bronson, Union City, Pansophia Academy, St Mary’s Assumption, St Charles Borromeo, and the Branch Intermediate School District all originally postponed classes by two hours.
Around 7:45 a.m, officials with the Coldwater, Quincy, and Bronson School Districts, as well as St Charles Borromeo and St Mary’s Assumption decided to cancel classes for the day.
