QUINCY, MI (WTVB) – In his report for the Tuesday night Quincy Village Council meeting, Village Manager Eric Zuzga says the feedback they got from residents during a recent open house has been incorporated into the upcoming street project. Zuzga says 15 persons attended the open house just before Christmas which reviewed all of the 2017 construction plans in the village.
He added ideas from the open house will also be incorporated for all future construction projects.
Zuzga plans to have a video explaining the work posted soon on the village’s website and on its Facebook page.
It’s hoped the Village Council will award bids for the work next month.
A number of street construction and infrastructure projects will take place in Quincy this year thanks to the awarding of a $1 million grant from the Michigan Economic Development Corporation.
Streets affected are Grove, Daly, East Jefferson, Fulton, Colfax, East Liberty and a portion of Orange between Wood and Fulton. The money will also be used to install larger water mains and replace mains that are over 120 years old.
The local match is 10 percent and the money has to be spent by December 2017.
Zuzga says an additional $500,000 to $2 million in grant money could available from the state for 2018. If the village can get an additional grant, more streets will be added to their construction plans.
