COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – Commissioner Leonard Kolcz presented information during Thursday’s Branch County Board of Commissioners work session that he feels will allow the county to put another Sheriff’s Department deputy on the road for the rest of this year.
Under Kolcz’s proposal, a corrections officer would be transferred to the road at a salary increase of about $8,900. A new corrections officer would then be hired for a starting salary of about $16,000 less than what the current officer is making.
Sheriff John Pollack pointed out previous budgeted funds were not being spent.
Commissioners requested that more figures be presented to them for their work session on February 9, 2017.
