HILLSDALE, MI (WTVB) – Hundreds of people volunteered their services Friday as the search for a missing nine year old boy continued in Hillsdale County.
Jace Landon Lyon was last seen getting off his school bus at his home on East Moore Road just north of the Hillsdale College campus Wednesday afternoon. His last contact was a voicemail he left on his mother’s cell phone that night at 6:30pm. She reported him as missing at about 9:00pm Wednesday night after coming home from work.
People were told to come dressed for the weather and for muddy conditions. Some went through very difficult terrain in hopes of finding the youngster alive.
Among those helping out in the search are five reserves from the Branch County Sheriff’s Department.
Hillsdale County Sheriff Tim Parker says an anonymous person has put up a $5,000 reward to help find the boy. Foul play is not suspected in the disappearance.
Anyone who knows the whereabouts of Jace Landon Lyon is asked to call 911 or the Hillsdale County Sheriff’s Department at (517) 437-7317.
