COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – A man from Fremont, Indiana was told to serve between 23 months and 10 years in the Michigan Department of Corrections on Monday in Branch County Circuit Court after he entered guilty pleas to drug and weapon charges.
43-year-old Chad Kiser was arrested by Coldwater Police in August 2016 in the 100 block of East Chicago after he fell asleep in his car and officers found meth lab components and a gun.
Kiser entered guilty pleas to charges of operating and maintaining a meth lab, possession of paraphernalia and carrying a concealed weapon.
Another charge of operating and maintaining a meth lab and a felony firearm count were dismissed by prosecutors as part of the plea agreement.
It was mentioned in court that Kiser has a criminal record that goes back to 2003. He was given credit for 173 days already served in jail.
