HILLSDALE, MI (WTVB) – A two year girl who was believed to have been the victim of a parental kidnapping in Mason County was recovered unharmed on Tuesday in Hillsdale County.
The father of the child, 47-year-old Mark Saporita-Fargo, along with 50-year-old Jeffrey Alan Miller were both arrested on a kidnapping warrant out of Mason County and lodged without bond at the Hillsdale County Jail.
Michigan State Police say a caller told Hillsdale County 911 that Saporita-Fargo, was at his residence in Reading.
Saporita-Fargo was wanted for taking Hailey Hunter-Rose Fargo who was in foster care.
Troopers went to the residence where the 911 call came from but Saporita-Fargo and the girl were gone. The caller was able to provide an address in Montgomery where Saporita-Fargo was going.
Troopers went there and took him into custody without incident. Miller is believed to have driven the father and daughter to the state line.
Police say he and Saporita-Fargo became friends while they were locked up in the Mason County Jail.
