UNDATED (WKZO-AM/FM) — JCPenney announced last month that it planned to close over 100 stores nationwide, including a pair in west Michigan.
Stores at the Lakeview Square Mall in Battle Creek and at the Westshore Mall in Holland will be closed within the next few months.
Liquidation sales could begin in a month.
It’s a particular blow at the mall in Battle Creek, which just learned in January they will also be losing their Macy’s anchor store. It will leave the shopping center off Interstate 94 with just one anchor, Sears, which has already gone through a round of closings since the new year.
A total of seven JCPenney locations in Michigan will be closing.
