Wanda Lee Runyon, 79, of Tekonsha, Michigan passed away Thursday, October 15, 2026 at Oaklawn Hospital in Marshall, Michigan, surrounded by her loving family.
A memorial visitation will be held Wednesday, October 21, 2026 from 11:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m. at Lighthouse Funeral & Cremation, 1276 Tate Trail, Union City.
A memorial service will immediately follow at 1:00 p.m., also at the Lighthouse in Union City. Private interment will be at Riverside Cemetery in Tekonsha.
Wanda was born November 1, 1946, to Adolf and Wilma (Chester) Schaper in Woodburn, Indiana. She graduated from Woodburn High School with the Class of 1965.
September 16, 1966, she married Dewight Runyon at Zion Lutheran Church in Woodburn. He preceded her in death July 30, 2023.
Wanda worked for Tekonsha Community Schools in the kitchen for over 25 years. She enjoyed reading, lighthouses, beaches, watching sports, college basketball, playing cards, and gardening.
Surviving Wanda are her son, Dr. Bradley (Vickie) Runyon, O.D. of Tekonsha; her grandchildren, Maggie, Sarah, Brent and Chloe; her sister, Nona Brueck of Fort Wayne, IN; and a sister-in-law, Marilyn Gordon of South Bend, IN.
In addition to her husband Dewight, she was preceded in death by her parents, her son Brent Runyon, and a sister, Shirley Witte.
