ANN ARBOR, MI (WTVB) – The University of Michigan baseball team is heading to the 2017 NCAA Tournament. Michigan received an at-large bid in the 64-team field yesterday and will open play Friday against Florida Gulf Coast in the Chapel Hill, North Carolina regional.
The Wolverines and Eagles have played each other six times previously, but the double-elimination event marks the first time the teams have met in the postseason.
U of M, 42-15 this season, represents the Big Ten along with Indiana, Iowa, Maryland and Nebraska in the tournament. .
