COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – Branch County Administrator Bud Norman told the County Board of Commissioners at their work session Thursday that the beams for the new animal shelter are now set.
Norman added plumbing and drainage for the building, which is being constructed behind the county jail, is about three quarters of the way done.
Siding for the building was cut to short so it had to be sent back. Norman anticipates a ribbon cutting will take place in September.
Meantime, commissioners are scheduled to take action Tuesday that would allow the County Complex to spend just over $5,100 for an inspection camera and locator.
Complex Manager Scott Wells says the 100 foot cable will allow them to go into different clean outs in order to find problems. He says the camera could have been used recently as it took nearly six hours to find a clog. They had to go several spots and created a mess in the medium security part of the jail.
The money for the camera and locator would come out of the Capital Outlay fund.
