COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – An inmate who was arrested following a Michigan State Police investigation into the smuggling of the drug suboxone into the Lakeland Correctional Facility two years ago was sentenced Monday in Branch County Circuit Court.
38-year-old Vincent Delly was given a sentence of between 17 months and five years after he entered a guilty plea to a charge of being a prisoner in possession of contraband.
His latest sentence will run consecutive to his current prison time.
Delly will spend the rest of his life behind bars as a repeat offender. According to Department of Corrections online records, he has been convicted of armed robbery and conspiracy to commit armed robbery out of Wayne County as well as another count being a prisoner in possession of contraband out of Muskegeon County.
Delly was one of three suspects arrested in the Lakeland investigation after phone calls were monitored and an envelope was intercepted by authorities.
