QUINCY, MI (WTVB) – The Quincy Community Schools Board of Education has scheduled a special board meeting for Tuesday night in the school’s Administration Office starting at 7:00 p.m. The posted notice says the special board meeting is being held in regards to a personnel matter. No further information is being released.
The meeting comes almost a week after three current and present administrators turned themselves in after a Branch County Sheriff’s Department investigation into how allegations of sexual misconduct against former teacher Jason Ferrell were handled by past and present Quincy school officials.
Ferrell is facing criminal sexual conduct charges in Branch and Calhoun Counties for an alleged inappropriate relationship with a female student.
Former Superintendent Craig Artist, Quincy High School Principal David Spalding and Business Manager Cheryl Globke are all free on bond.
They are scheduled to appear for arraignments in Branch County District Court on August 14th.
Artist has been charged with a high court misdemeanor count of Public Money Safekeeping and a misdemeanor count of Child Abuse-Failure to Report. He resigned on July 10th.
Spalding and Globke are on administrative leave. Spalding has been charged with Child Abuse-Failure to Report. Globke is charged with Public Money Safekeeping.
