COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – The fifth annual Hot Wings Eating Contest involving Branch County financial institutions raised over $3,600 for the Branch Area Food Pantry on Tuesday night.
Nearly half of the money was raised Tuesday at JT’s Billiard Bar and Grill through door prizes, gift baskets, t-shirt sales, a 50/50 raffle and 10 percent of food sales.
Southern Michigan Bank and Trust collected the most donations as they raised over $1,000.
Southern’s Corey Donner and Bryan Heisler shared the wing eating championship as they each downed 23 wings.
There were nearly a dozen contestants from area financial institutions who participated in the contest.
Money was also raised through an auction and many area businesses donated prizes.
