COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – The Coldwater Community Schools new athletic director says he’s a family man and loves the welcome mat the community has rolled out for him since being hired at the end of June.
Todd Farmer was the guest speaker at Tuesday’s meeting of the Coldwater Noon Rotary Club. Farmer for the past 8 years had been Assistant Principal and Athletic Director for Muskegon Reeths Puffer Middle School, and previously was Athletic Director for six years at the district’s high school.
Farmer said every person he’s met in Coldwater has been extremely welcoming and inviting while proving that the positive comments he had heard earlier about the potential new position were all accurate. Farmer and his wife Julie have two children, a high school junior, Ellory, who is on the varsity volleyball team and she also plays softball, and a middle school 8th grader, Logan, who is active in baseball and basketball.
Farmer told Rotarians he hopes to increase the size of the Coldwater Cardinal Athletics Booster Club so that the whole weight of directing the group’s fundraising efforts isn’t just on a small number of people.
