BRONSON, MI (WTVB) – The Bronson Police Department is looking for a man who they say scammed a local service station out of some money early Friday morning.
Chief Stephen Johnson says the man went into the Shell Station in Bronson at about 1:45am and said he was an employee of a propane company. He indicated to an employee he was there to restock their propane exchange outside and that the store owed $225 in cash for the new filled tanks.
Once the man got the payment from the clerk, he signed off on a receipt and left.
A store video shows the suspect getting into a small red pickup truck. He did not deliver or pick up any propane tanks. It also appeared there was a passenger in the pickup.
The suspect is said to be in his 40s or 50s with grey hair and a grey mustache. He was wearing a black hat with a white Nike swoosh symbol, a blue Old Navy sweatshirt, dark blue jeans and black sneakers with white on the bottom.
Anybody with information is asked to call Bronson Police at (517)369-9063. Michigan State Police assisted during the investigation.
