COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – Community Health Center of Branch County President and Chief Executive Officer Randy DeGroot told Branch County Commissioners on Thursday that things are still in place for ProMedica to take over operations at the hospital on January 1st.
With state lawmakers back in session following the summer break, the legislative initiative that was passed by the State Senate in June is now ready for House consideration.
DeGroot said he will testify in front of the House Health Policy Committee on September 27th.
A committee hearing will be held on October 4th followed by action by the House. Degroot expects the bill to pass and be signed by Governor Snyder by the end of October.
He added the legal teams have been earning their fees doing a lot of work behind the scenes.
County Commissioners also got a memo from the attorneys for the hospital which outlined the proposed changes over the next few months.
