COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – Coldwater businesswoman Alexia Rish is not only hoping to unseat Fourth Ward Council Member Randall Hazelbaker for a four year term Tuesday, she is also running as a write in candidate against Mayor Tom Kramer. She is urging her supporters to fill in the box on the ballot and “retire” Kramer after his three decades in Coldwater city government.
Voters in Coldwater’s Fourth Ward will also decide a City Council race involving current Council Member Scott Houtz, who was appointed in July 2016, and challenger Dan Corwin, who has been outspoken on a number of local issues, including a proposed housing development at the site of the former Fremont School building. Houtz was also opposed to the project. The winner will serve out the term of former council member Heather Peet which runs through 2019.
Council members Travis Machan, Jim Knaack and Michael Beckwith, are running unopposed.
Voting for the City of Coldwater will take place Tuesday, November 7 from 7:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the Dearth Center at the Branch County Fairgrounds.
