BROOKLYN, MI (WTVB) – Coldwater High School senior cross country runner Shuaib Aljabaly remained undefeated for the season with the biggest win of his illustrious career Saturday at the MHSAA State Cross-Country Finals.
Aljablay won the Division II state title with a winning time of 15:12.2, which was the fastest time of the day, bettering all other division winners. Rain and thunderstorms delayed several of the races at Michigan International Speedway.

Also competing for Coldwater Saturday was state qualifier Kathy Potter. Potter ran a near-best time of 19:34.8 to capture 60th place in the field of 250 runners.
In the Division Three Girls Finals, Xochitl Garcia of Bronson finished 102nd. Quincy’s Harmony Harpster was 119th while her teammate Madelyn Allman was 139th.
In the Division Three Boys Finals, Nathan Nohr of Quincy was 36th while Luis Ortiz of Bronson was 123rd.
Tekonsha’s David Frederick earned All-State honors with a 14th place finish in the Boys Division Four Finals.
