COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – The H & C Burnside Senior Center on Grahl Drive in Coldwater will host its annual Veterans Day program and lunch this Thursday morning starting at 10:00 a.m.
The keynote speaker will be T.R. Shaw, Junior from Battle Creek. He is the C.E.O. of Shaw Communication and is a retired U.S. Navy Lt. Commander.
Bob Betts, who has been organizing the event for many years, will serve as the Emcee. The American Legion color guard, Daughters of the American Revolution, members of the Coldwater Elks, and Donna Green will also be on hand.
The event is for those 50 years old and over.
Lunch will be provided free for senior veterans. The cost of lunch for non-veterans is $8.00 per plate. Reservations at 279-6565 are required by Tuesday, November 7.
Lunch will be catered by Charlie’s Pride BBQ, a local veteran-owned business. Lunch for veterans is being donated by American Legion Post 52 Drill Team, Century Bank and Trust and the Coldwater Elks.
The Burnside Center is also acknowledging those who have served with their photos on the “Wall of Heroes” on display throughout the week.
