QUINCY, MI (WTVB) – The search for a new Superintendent of the Quincy Community School district will involve the use of focus groups.
David Killips from the Michigan Leadership Institute will be getting input from stakeholders February 5, 2018 as to the qualities they want in a new Superintendent. The meetings will take place in the Administration building.
The schedule is as follows…
9:00 – 10:00 Bus Drivers, Custodians, Maintenance Staff
10:00 – 11:00 Administrators, Central Office
12:00 – 1:00 Village Employees, Business Leaders
1:00 – 2:00 Community Members
2:00 – 3:00 Rotary Club, Service Organizations, Food Service
3:00 – 4:00 Teachers and Support Staff
4:00 – 5:00 JPO, Band Boosters, Athletic Boosters, Coaches
The timeline calls for the new Superintendent to start July 1, 2018.
The position was officially posted last Friday. Whoever is hired will have the task of helping the district heal following the controversy over the criminal sexual misconduct case involving former teacher and IT Director Jason Ferrell.
Former Superintendent Craig Artist resigned and retired last July as part of the fallout from the Ferrell case.
The district is also gathering input for a new school improvement plan which will serve as a guide for the next five years by posting a survey on its Facebook page.
