QUINCY, MI (WTVB) – Despite the inconvenience of dealing with Friday’s heavy snowfall, Mother Nature has provided the perfect setting for the 56th annual Quincy Chain of Lakes Tip-Up Festival Saturday at Tip-Up Island.
Fishing contests, kid’s games, and wood cutting contests will be held throughout the day Saturday. All day drop in hockey for all ages is also on the schedule.
Organizers have been forced to cancel the radar runs and quad races because Mother Nature did not provide enough ice.
The 36th Annual Polar Bear Splash will be held at 12 noon. Those who are brave enough to jump into the chilly waters of Marble Lake can start registering at 11:00 a.m..
Cadillac Ranch will perform during the Fisherman’s Ball which will run from 8:00 p.m. until midnight. Tickets are $10. You must 21 to attend and it’s BYOB.
The Tip-Up Mayor for 2018 is Tammi Ellis, the Tip-Up Sheriff is Teaira Towers, and Kordelia Ulrich will reign over the festival as Tip-Up Queen.
