COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) -Now that Winter Storm Mateo is nothing more than a bad memory, National Weather Service forecasters are predicting no major weather systems will come through our area for at least the next week.
That will give winter weary folks a chance to dig out from the massive Friday snowfall.
A brief thaw is expected on Wednesday and Thursday with highs getting into the low 40s.
Rain is in the forecast for both days which could make things rather sloppy.
The extended forecast is calling for sunshine next weekend with highs back into the 40s on Sunday.
The storm was apparently a deterrent to crime. Only five persons were booked at the Branch County Jail on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. There were no bookings on Friday during the height of the storm.
