COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – Both of the Coldwater High School varsity bowling teams defeated Sturgis Monday. The Coldwater boys won 24-6 as they won the two regular games 962-879 and 934-798. In the baker games, Sturgis won the first game 186-156. Coldwater took the second baker 237-189 to win the match.
High scorers for Coldwater were; Brandon Rifenburgh with a 257 and a 204 for a 461 series. Alec Keplinger with a 258 and 201 for a 459 series, Caleb Champion had a 182 game, Logan Hunnaman had a 170, and Kai Kinsey rolled a 169.
The Coldwater girls defeated Sturgis 30-0. They won the two regular games 894-784 and 863-855 for a 1,757 series to Sturgis’ 1,639 series. In the baker games, Coldwater won 173-169 and 168 to 120.
High scorers for Coldwater were; Addison Harvey 214, Samantha Youse 201, Noella Keplinger 190, Tiffanie Corwin 177, Allison Caswell 172, Rilee Cooper-Lewis 181, and Alysia VanWormer with a 141.
The Coldwater JV girls scrimmaged the Sturgis JV boys. High scorers for Coldwater were; Breanna Hamm with a 147, Ashley Mobley with a 147, Sabrina VanAuker with a 143, Cassie Pokorny had a 141.
The Coldwater girls JV squad will travel to M-66 Bowl this weekend to compete in the JV state competition.
