COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – The Branch County Board of Commissioners passed a resolution Tuesday to adopt a five year recreation plan for the county. The plan was put together after the Branch County Park Trustees got input from community members through an online survey.
The survey asked for feedback on the County Parks. It also had questions about what improvements were needed at the six parks Branch County owns and operates. A completed recreation plan allows the County to become eligible for recreation grant opportunities. A grant from the state has been used over the last five years to help fund improvements at Memorial Park.
Commissioners also apporved a letter that will be presented to the construction manager regarding the heating, venting and air conditioning system and roof issues at the Burnside Center. Commission on Aging Executive Director Amy Duff requested the letter from Commissioners since the end of a one year warranty from the date of substantial completion was going to expire on March 31, 2018.
