A pair of street reconstruction projects in the City of Coldwater are starting to wind up.
City Manager Keith Baker says in his report for Monday’s City Council meeting that storm drainage ditch work and new concrete drive approaches on Treat Avenue are nearly complete. Final paving was scheduled to take place last Saturday but had to be postponed for a week due to last Friday’s rain.
Meanwhile, asphalt milling and paving in the Grand Street reconstruction project is scheduled to begin Monday. Baker says weather permitting, the street should reopen by the Fourth of July.
Meanwhile, things have been busy at Heritage Park as work continues on the Youth Ball Field Project. Baker says footings and foundations for the concession, restroom and storage buildings are going in. He adds the picnic pavilion, dog park and restrooms will continue to be available for use by the public during construction which is expected to be completed in October.
Working is also continuing on the Chandler Plaza parking lot, southwest of the main Four Corners in downtown Coldwater. The city had planned to completely close the lot last week to allow crews to workout the interference of vehicles, but the total closure hasn’t taken place yet.
