COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – The Coldwater City Council approved a resolution and an agreement Monday night that will allow for a future needs study of the city’s public work facilities on Industrial Drive.
The building where the Department of Municipal Services now operates was built in the 1930’s and initially served as bus garage. But the building has had many issues lately including a leaky roof.
City Manager Keith Baker says the study by the city’s consulting engineering firm of Fishbeck, Thompson, Carr and Huber would inventory equipment and storage needs, evaluate operations and provide recommendations for future improvements at a cost of just over $23,000.
The firm has conducted similar studies at other municipal facilities in Michigan.
In other business, the council approved a bid of just under $23,000 from Michigan Paving and Materials for the paving of Taylor Street between Marshall and Grand Streets.
