BERKELEY, CA (WTVB) – The rivalry matchup known as the Big Game between Stanford and Cal has been postponed due to poor air quality resulting from wildfires in Northern California. Cal announced that the contest will take place on Dec. 1 with kickoff scheduled for noon local time. The two teams have played each other annually since 1892 with the exception of a few seasons during the World Wars. The 1963 iteration of the Big Game was postponed following the assassination of President Kennedy.
