HILLSDALE, MI (WTVB) – A Reading Township man who is a suspect in a Bryan, Ohio stabbing death last weekend made his first court appearance Wednesday.
38-year-old Ryan Dangerfield was arraigned in Hillsdale County District Court on Michigan charges of resisting and obstructing, assault and battery and having no insurance as well as on the fugitive warrant out of Williams County, Ohio.
Ohio authorities have charged him with voluntary manslaughter for now but Williams County Prosecutor Katherine Zartman says a more serious charge could be filed depending on how the investigation turns out that her office and the Bryan Police Department are conducting.
Dangerfield was arrested Monday following a joint effort of several police and public safety agencies. The Hillsdale County Sheriff’s Department says they got numerous tip through their smart phone App and on their Facebook page.
Police in Bryan say 23-year-old Dylan Bible was stabbed during an assault early Sunday morning at the Colonial Manor Motel on East High Street. Bible was later pronounced dead at the Community Hospitals of Williams County in Bryan.
A motive has not been established yet.
