COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – 2019 Coldwater High School graduate Zach Rigot is playing baseball for two weeks in Europe with Old World Baseball.
His mother says he was seen in a prospect camp last year in New York and was invited to play.
They are playing national and college teams over there.
In a game against the Slovakian mens national team, Rigot came on in relief when the bases were loaded. He pitched 2 2/3 inning of relief and struck out three batters as the Old World team won 6-5.
Rigot started the first of two games against the Czech Republic Junior National Team. He struck out nine in 3 1/3 innings and earned the win as Old World Baseball scored a 3-2 victory.
Their next action will be in Germany against the German Junior National Team.
