ANGOLA, IN (WTVB) – The Steuben County Coroner’s Office has announced that an autopsy performed Monday in Fort Wayne on 20 year old John “Jack” Adams of Lake Forest, Illinois confirms he died from asphyxia due to drowning, and that his death was an accident.
Adams was wakesurfing on Clear Lake last Thursday evening when he went into the water and never resurfaced.
His body was found Saturday night in 56 feet of water thanks to the use of a sonar unit.
The Steuben County Underwater Recovery and Rescue Team assisted Indiana Conservation Officers during the search and eventual recovery.
