COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – Brady McFarland was named the Most Valuable Player, while Zach Rigot was named the Most Valuable Pitcher as the Coldwater High School baseball team recently held its postseason banquet.
McFarland also won the leading hitter award as he batted .346 this season. He also won the Most Valuable Defensive Player and Mister Hustle Awards, and shared the Most Valuable Offensive Player award with Austin Santure and Austin Roby.
Aiden Marsden earned the Most Improved Player Award while Eric Fosdick named the winner of the Coaches Award and Bryce Lafferty won the Best Teammate Award.
McFarland made the Interstate 8 All Conference First Team while Rigot, Roby and Santure earned honorable mentions.
Seven Coldwater players earned Interstate 8 Academic All-Conference honors. They were Fosdick, Marshall Hoard, Lafferty, Marsden, Rigot, Hunter St. Clair and Nathan Tappenden.
Rigot earned Michigan High School Baseball Coaches Association All-District, All-Region and All-State Academic Awards while Lafferty earned an Academic All-District honor from the Coaches Association.
