COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – Coldwater City Manager Keith Baker says construction on the Thompson Boulevard Extension and Street Resurfacing Project is scheduled to begin Monday.
Parrish Excavating is the general contractor for the project, after they were awarded the project by the City Council last month with a bid of $514,700. Excel Paving will be the asphalt paving contractor.
Baker says work is expected to be completed by the end of August, weather permitting.
The project is part of the city’s 2019-2020 fiscal year budget and will be funded through the city’s capital improvement fund and Act 51 street funds.
Thompson Boulevard will be completed between Pillsbury Avenue and Michael Drive.
The city purchased eight lots from the Branch Intermediate School District and seven from Jim Weiss along Thompson Boulevard in order to encourage and provide additional housing in the community.
