COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – The Coldwater City Council approved a bid of just under $48,500 from Thompson Construction Company of Coldwate Monday night for work at the Garfield Avenue Substation Drain.
The work is designed to alleviate flooding that has damaged nearby private property.
City Manager Keith Baker said bids were solicited for earth excavation and the cleaning of about 740 linear feet of the drainage ditch. There would be slope restoration and seeding along two sides of the drain.
Thompson had the low bid of the three that were submitted.
The contractor has agreed to provide a one year warranty for materials and workmanship. The project is expected to be completed this summer.
