COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – As part of a pilot program for the State of Michigan, the Coldwater City Council adopted a resolution Monday night that approves the proposed design and authorizes the city staff to proceed with the ordering and purchasing of a modular home through General Housing Company of Bay City.
The action comes after the City of Coldwater was recently awarded a $196,000 grant from the state to build the modular home.
The proposed house would be a three-bedroom, two bathroom ranch style home on a full basement with a two-car garage.
Plans call for the home to be installed in late September or early October 2019, shortly after the completion of the Thompson Blvd. extension.
The proposed sale price of the home will be between $187,000 and $197,000.
The home’s buyers may qualify for a Michigan State Housing Development Authority $7,500 down payment assistance program which would bring down the cost of financing the house.
