COLDWATER, MI – The Coldwater Board of Public Utilities Board moved forward on a planned electric substation on Butters Avenue, near the H.C. Starck factory. During the Julky 16th regular monthly meeting of the BPU Board of Directors, a $40,000 purchase agreement with H.C. Starck was approved for a 3.1 acre parcel of land where the substation will be located.
According to CBPU director Jeff Budd, the site is “…ideally located by existing retransmission lines and provides operational flexibility.” The board also accepted the low bid of around $1.5 million from Delta Star for two transformers for the substation.
In other business, John Schroll was re-elected Board President, Chris Stevens was re-elected Board Vice President, and Nicki Luce was re-appointed Executive Secretary. And the Board will continue to meet on the third Tuesday of the month during the 2019-2020 financial year.
