COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – During its Thursday work session, the Branch County Board of Commissioners reviewed the county’s audit for the 2018 calendar year.
The County brought in $12,522,116 in revenues to its general fund in 2018, an increase of less than 1% from 2017. Expenditures were down around 5% year-to-year, with a total of $11,789,302. $325,798 was added to the county’s fund balance at the end of year, bringing it up to $2,307,845.
Aaron Stevens, from Maner Costerian Certified Public Accountants, gave the county an unmodified opinion in his report, meaning that the county’s financial statements were presented in accordance with applicable government accounting standards.
The full report will be brought forward for acceptance by the Board of Commissioners at its next regular meeting, which has been rescheduled for next Monday at 4:00 p.m.
