ANGOLA, IN (WTVB) – Two females suffered minor injuries Monday morning when a fire broke out at a home on North Wayne Street in Angola, Indiana.
Angola Fire Department Public Information Officer T.R. Hagerty says the fire at the one story ranch home was reported just before 6:30 a.m..
There was heavy fire and smoke coming from the home when the first crews arrived and it took firefighters about a half hour to get the flames under control.
The home at 2209 North Wayne was occupied by Rodell and Richard Rickerd and owned by Barbara A. Hocker.
The fire caused nearly $200,000 worth of damage. It was listed as accidental and electrical in nature.
Hagerty says there were several family pets in the residence at the time of the fire and their condition was unknown.
Angola firefighters were assisted by crews from Fremont, Ashley-Hudson and Steuben Township. They also got assistance from Angola Police, the Steuben County Sheriff’s Office, Steuben County EMS, the City Of Angola Water Department and NIPSCO.
